Must I take such precautions, when in time, life always flees.
Death comes at such short notice, when no one expects anything
Do we always spit such vile words in order to make a home?
For a home is built on more than just a family.
As children we made such promises to keep our lives stable,
I've become obsolete, an alcoholics breathe, a smokers regret
Your truth is the haunting, such reasons to which I'm afraid of what I've become,
I'm a deer to your headlights unable to move from the presence I love.
I will be the one to build such lighthouses
In order to guide your ships on a more peaceful waters,
But we found that these waters, these waves crashed to heavy on a boat so feeble,
That the weight was just too unbearable,
You have everything in front of you, what are you waiting for?
The worlds won't hold you forever, your presence here is short
Take advantage of what you have, don't fear what you can't see,
Embrace such fears, it will set you free.
So we are the ghosts, that haunt and reside
The lighthouses which refuse to guide the way,
For these ships sail onwards into the cliffs.
Are we just transposed versions of these ships?
Knowing that each day we crash and burn,
This is a wreckage unsalvageable to a man so weak.
All I ask for is your arms, your embrace,
But all I find again, is this motel bed,
I'll scrape your poetry from the roof of your mouth,
until your left speechless,
I will guide your way
